The Stratford 47 Group was formed in 2001 with aim of preserving a 47 that was allocated to the former Stratford TMD in East London. Once a familiar sight on the former Eastern Region of British Rail in the 1970’s & 80’s.

Stratford 47 Group are the proud owners of 47367 , 47596 Aldeburgh Festival & 47580 County of Essex of which 47367 is based at North Norfolk Railway & 47596 which is based on Mid Norfolk Railway.

Returning 47580 to working order also keeping 47367 & 47596 working will be a big undertaking that will take lots of time and dedication therefore new members and donations are most welcome.
