The Stratford 47 Group was formed in 2001 with aim of preserving a 47 that was allocated to the former Stratford TMD in East London. Once a familiar sight on the former Eastern Region of British Rail in the 1970’s & 80’s.

Stratford 47 Group are the proud owners of 47367 based on the North NorfolkRailway, 47580 County of Essex which is Network Rail regisated mainline loco and 47596 Aldeburgh Festival based at Mid Norfolk Railway.

Returning 47367 & 47596 to working order also keeping 47580 running on the mainline will be a big undertaking that will take lots of time and dedication therefore new members and donations are most welcome.
